Actaually i dare to say that i don’t like it…

We say in egypt’s not worth a dime..but in arabic..

It’s those words that are supposed to make that magical effect on someone’s mind and he goes..ooh ..chic!!

So when someone feels so smart and hipp and outgoing he sais things like..i am a trend setter not a follower!!

Isn’t that chic??

ofcourse then, after throwing that amazing bomb they feel that they have the right to slam anything..and as someone who appreciates individual openion it’sآ  always o.k for me to listen, think then mind my own business..

ah ah ..except for one issue..i just can’t…they can call me narrow minded..stupid..hard headed even ignorant..just don’t care and can’t look away..

Ladies and gentelmen…leave our religious matters away from your outstanding mental capacities..Be genious else where…leave something unstained by the human amazing discoveries…have your unique openions reagarding any other subject….pleaaaaaase!!

cause things are as simple as this…if youآ are full of that great awareness that makes you have your own openion thatآ disagrees with what allah set for his world regarding his creations who live from his goods and use his tools and think with the mindآ that heآ made then what that makes of you??!

Isn’t it enough that our religion get insulted from it gonna be anybetter for us if we start to devalue our own religion.?!.is sparkling words and ideas that actually are tests for us claim all that applause and hurrays..?!

When people stand up for their rights or their countries we call them heros and idols..but what about standing up for allah who created that ignorant human that is being unfair to him self and to his religion…

Is she that amazingly smart when she makes fun of veiled girls orآ  the veil itself??isn’t that some kind of cover for the actual refusal towards that matter only because they just can’t do it..?

Is he that amazingly phelosopher when he thinks that the world was created by itself and that humans are the only force that make everything happens?

Is it o.k to bow to these people and quote from their magnefisnt words even though you know that they don’t believe in allah the almighty?

What kind of croocked instinct is that ??

Looking for role models…symbols…idols.??

you have 124000 companion of the prophet…search among them to find your favorit type..

(pbuh) companions are like stars..if you follow any of them ,you will be guided…

what about the prophet himself..the best among mankind..?!!

not chic enough for you???

any way,,you can say everyone is free to think his own way..

and i will say are absolotly right…

but allah said..remind ..reminding benefit the faithful..

I think that following allah in every thing regarding obeying allah is an honour to anyone..

as for setting the trend i say…it’s been set for more than 1400 years ,don’t bother!!

  1. Very well said. You are not narrow minded. Standing up for your beliefs is important. What would Allah think if we didn’t? As you said the trend has been set 1400 years ago.

  2. bismillah
    assalamu alaikum

I agree with you ya ukhti ya karima. Walah it reached a point for me that I stopped completely from arguing with them. I mean to what end? How many times am I suppose to argue the same argument about the veil, creation, this, that. Am I expected to convince the entire human population? Not only would I go insane in a short while, it certainly not possible realistically. This is when I realised that as individuals, we can only do so much. Even if we put it as our lives work, like some sheikhs actually do (Estas, Ahmad Deedat, etc.) how much can we possibly achieve? And is that even expected of us by Allah?

Let us look at the prophet’s (pbuh) life, as as you said, he is our greatest model to follow (the ONLY model we should follow). Did he spend his whole life preaching in Mecca? Did he stay there until all of Quraish converted? No he didn’t, he stayed until he got a strong enough following, and most of which (if I remember correctly) were not even from Mecca.

I hope I didn’t stray too much from the topic, I’ve actually been arguing this very point on another blog so the argument just popped out after I read your article.

    alhamdullilah 3la kulin

  3. Even though I agree with so much of what you said. I also find myself disagreeing on some other parts.
My main point of disagreement is that some of your logic is actually incorrect. There is no rule that says that we can’t look at "non-believers" and learn from them. We do however have to do the diligence to actually sift through the tons of information to select the things that will enrich our world!
Islam didn’t come with the knowledge of the universe, it came with rules guiding life and relationships. How we deal and interact. Everything else came from the human mind, god’s greatest gift to mankind.
Following our prophet is a great honor, why can’t we all just follow his footsteps? And STILL make a change. Still be a trend setter.
Don’t you think if we do renovate Islam .. and understand it against modern values it would be a great thing?

Anyway, this subject is a little bit too big to be talked about in a few comments.

Can I ask you for a favor. PLEASE? will you remove that annoying butterfly. It’s sooooooooooooo annoying

  4. i do agree with y…but it is a delima…cos some people who belive they r following the right steps..are not.ofcourse according to me..and my openion could be wrong…there is no absolute right…simply cos human beings can never be absoltuly right..yr article was general…when it comes to details,we should be very careful,,cos we might end up following the wrong steps…i never question the general rules..or our prophet’s (pbuh) steps…but i question our understanding ..including mine…somone said:the problemis the way we look at this case it is issues not problems…and commenting on abdul rahman…i think we need more time and effort educating our people about religion..before we go for others…we have a problem here…in our minds..
    nice post..

  5. This is a VERY good post – with striking arguments! On a personal note I have to say I never cared about fashion and always wore what I liked but admit as well to be with that at an absolute outsider position .
I think the Muslim dress-code does represent in a way the perception of dignity, of decency and yes, as well of morals! I think a Muslim woman should be proud of herself and have a high self-esteem and definitely NOT bow to some influences from outside which only triggers what we, asadly enough, do have but you do NOT want: jealousy, trend-setting, competition, more and more crazy fashion ect., girls in puberty-years in particular getting out of control because of things to wear which are "in", barely wearing anything …

I think the changes wich CAN be made are enough .. such as differnet veils, colors of coats, dresses ect. – you do NOT need to copy cheap Western fashion patterns which go entirly against what the Qur’an teaches and orders!
As you say … the trend had been set 1400 years ago … so why bother!

  6. asalam 3alaykom,
dear karin..thank you so much for visiting again ,it’s always a pleasure..
you are right about everything you said ofcourse!!
people just love to think that they’re some superbe creature even
if that condraticts with allah’s rules..
you are so blessed with the right understanding:)

  7. Well said my friend 🙂

But know what? I was visiting a blog, and their was a fight between bloggers, and the sad part someone said "Unfourtanatly I was born a Muslim"…I felt so sick, I don’t know, But I just felt like throwing up 😦 So sad how could someone be twisted that way…So sad…

  8. asalam 3alaykom,

    setting records straight;

The quran has the knowlege of the universe ,with the quantaty that we can ever realize..they reveal coats of knowlege every day and still it will never finish..

The sunnah did not leave one aspect of our lives without guiding us of what we need to do to be happy in life and after is the human who doesn’t learn from it and keep looking for answers else where..

We can never claim that we don’t understand inorder to get away from disobeying because all religion sciences can be taught just like anyother science but we let that go..

If we have the intention to devotedly learn and teach..then time won’t be an issue cause i’ll be doing what i was created to do regardless of how many years i will live..

Allah teaches only, who wants to learn..
learning is not about information cause allah said:
    ط§طھظ‚ظˆط§ ط§ظ„ظ„ظ‡ ظپظٹط¹ظ„ظ…ظƒظ… ط§ظ„ظ„ظ‡
after we die and our degree ,our family, our money and our life leaves us alone in the grave we will be asked only three questions..who is your god??
    who is your prophet??
    what is your religion??
and we won’t be able to answer according to our knowledge but only if we really lived the answer
    for these questions..

"if it’s about logic then we should have been asked to wipe down the khoff not above it!!"
said elimam aly ibn aby talleb rady allah 3anh..

  9. asalam 3alaykom,
dear neverland..thank allah that you and most of us are blessed with pure isntincts..
can’t you tell me what blog??!

  10. hey neverland..i guessed and got it..and i invited the argue to be made over here..
    i really felt for wedad..
do you think they would actually come?!

  11. TheCaller, are you turning to Sufism now?
    ظ… ط¹ظ†ط¯ظ…ط§ ظ‚ط§ظ„: "ط£ظ†طھظ… ط§ط¹ظ„ظ… ط¨ط£ظ…ظˆط± ط¯ظ†ظٹط§ظƒظ…"

  12. bismillah
    assalamu alaikum
akh Qwaider, we are allowed to use our minds in things where there is no clear cut judgment by Allah or his messenger (pbuh). There is something called ijtihaad which involves taking the problem, the circumstances and the environment into the light of the Quraan and sunnah to find a solution. When Allah says clearly that we should turn left then as Muslims, there is no doubt which turn we have to take. We use our minds in issues which are mubaah for us to make our own judgments and these are the issues which Allah did not speak of because our judgments do not go above Allah and his messenger.

  13. bismillah
I would like to add to my above post that the Quran and Sunnah has, if not clear answers to everything, at least a guide to find the clear answer. So in the end, al ukht thecaller was right, the Quran and sunnah is our manual to absolutly everything in life.

  14. Thanks Abdul Rahman for the wonderful explanation.
Which leads me to my original comment on, how The Quran and Sunna have guidelines to how we live our lives, how we interact. How to find solutions. BUT it doesn’t have ALL the solutions. It encourages people to seek the truth and solutions. To find out, to understand. To get educated. And do all of this with the moral guidance of the Quran and Sunnah
Claiming that the Quran contains the universe is flawed logic. It does have guidelines the describe the building blocks in our thought, but by no means a science text book.

  15. Caller, it is NOT a "of course" at all that I am right … nooooo!! All I posted is my humble opinion … which I do definitely voice around here as well once the chance arises – I do NOT keep it secret and my mouth shut!
You’re so right … there are TOO MANY people on this planet who think they are "BETTER" than others … suffering from an acute superiority-complex (and sadly enough, a BUNCH of them are now our politicians!!) and forgot about the origine, what it is all about – and where they will go back to one day!
I’m very grateful I am allowed to understand more and more … I wish more people would seek after the truth! To ME it is worth the world …

  16. asalam 3alaykom,
dearest e-moussa..congratulations and welcome to jeeran..i’m gonna check it out sure;)

Hey every body emoussa is my closest friend in the whole world and e..i was just telling neverland about you yesterday!!check her out too she’s great..

emoussa is a smart photographer and an outstanding person with ahead worth sha2 allah 3aleha!!

  17. what did ever imply that i call for stop using our minds??!!!!!

all i wanted to say that individualizm doesn’t mean reconsidering set religional rules..we can use that incredible brain somewhere else..and that only high educated and strongly faithful religious scientist have the right fir ijtehad cause only then they will not be judged on their thinking..
and no..i didn’t turn to sufism i’m returning to following the sunnah cause it suits any day and age ..
the prophet (PBUH) said that we know our life a special incident..agriculture..not relating out side religion with tres chic trends!!
    by the way..the butterfly stays:)

  18. asalam 3alaykom,dear karin..i’m so honored that you visit me and engage in those put things in prespective..

our ignorance of the quran does not make any sense..o.k..
let me invite you all to check dr.zaghlool el najar books relating to the scientific knowlege in the quran..
    and in the sunnah too..
check it out and make your own mind!!

  19. Ok, you asked for it, You’re going to get it. Here’s a piece of my mind for this tiny little comment box.

Look, Islam is the religion of Science, it encouraged scientists to go ahead and understand what’s out there.
I have no idea where you came with the idea that Quran and Sunna has everything there is to know about the universe. They show you the way, but don’t make you walk the way!

A small example. Calculus. Is a science on it’s own, it was there even before Islam existed. It’s god’s wish that humans would understand it to help with their lives. But it’s not mentioned in Quran or Hadeeth. Does this mean anything is wrong with Quran or the Hadeeth? ABSOLUTELY NOT! they just don’t state these things because it’s out of the scope of the LIFE teachings that they come with.
When the prophet said "ط§ظ†طھظ… ط§ط¹ظ„ظ… ط¨ط£ظ…ظˆط± ط¯ظ†ظٹط§ظƒظ…" he was setting a precedence, and a confirmation that he is to be asked about the matters that relate to living our lives. Not making day to day technical decisions about how to function in an industry. May it be Agriculture, Medicine, Technology or otherwise. As long as you follow the rules he has set forth. For example not cheating your customers. And doing the best job you can (without specifying how you do this because, that’s too much details)

Learning from non-Muslims is fine! Who ever said that Islam is against us finding knowledge from other sources!? Many of the Muslim scholars read and translated works from the Greeks, Romans and Indians, Persians. And these are all non-Muslim. So if we have a precedence in the Salaf. Then what makes it wrong now!?
Looking at the 124000 Sahabis, you will find that not all of them were all that great! Some were closer to saints. Some had good and bad, and some were just not up to the same levels.
Let me assure you that Many of the problems we have these days still stem from issues that some Sahabah have started. To name a few before you

  20. cont…
. To name a few before you accuse me of just saying things. Look at Mo3awyeh ibin Abi Sufian. And Yazeed Ibin Mo3awyeh, El 7akam Ibin El Waleed and Amro Ibn Al 3as. These have committed atrocities against Islam that hurt the Muslim body till this day. So have openly confessed to what could be considered Kufr. Like the famous words of Amro ibn El 3as when he said to Mao3wyeh "ظ„ط§ ط§ظ†ظˆظ„ظƒ ظ…ظ† ط¢ط®ط±طھظٹ ططھظٹ ط§ظ†ط§ظ„ ظ…ظ† ط¯ظ†ظٹط§ظƒ" he publicly sold the afterlife for a piece of the world. And in return he got to rule Egypt.

I refuse to blindly follow. There are certain things that I would take for granted and I don’t need explanation nor do I need anyone to tell me why. Praying, Veil, not eating pork don’t need a reason. They are CLEAR to be Haram.

Read my first comment clearly to see that I didn’t disagree with you as you might have thought. I just cleared some of the logical errors that you had in your post.

I know this comment is larger than the post itself. But I think it’s needed because you were totally getting the wrong idea.

  21. asalam 3alaykom,
i was gonna tell you this commenting on the related post on your blog, but let it be here..
i thinl that you have a wrong idea about a few issues within our religion and i think that you have the wrong idea about what i wanted to say in the original post !!
BUT..i respect our tiny fifferences and i hope i can learn what you have in mind if it is best..but what you want to prove i studied it’s opposit during 5 years in college and 8 years in practicing da3wa and having some of the best teachers living right now..but beside all that i was taught that knowledge is from allah and i ask allah to guide me to what is humble as i can ever be..
and i already invited you and me ofcourse to make some research regarding those issues and may allah enlighten us..

    reagrding the butterfly..7ader:)

  22. dear neverland..yes they won’t;)
what do you think after reading that long debate?!

  25. Dear the caller,

Some people just mess the original points we wanted to discuss and get stuck into the small details and just build a whole arrgument about it, but hey, that’s ok 🙂

  26. Assalamo alaikom & Hello’s to everybody .

Quoting Qweider : "Don’t you think if we do renovate Islam .. and understand it against modern values it would be a great thing?"

I say : Exactly! Many do understand Islam as a religion of rules and go-no-go religion not keeping in mind that it’s 100% adaptive to change. A true pillar of Islam is the fear from God , this can take all forms of things at all times.

The veil, multy-wives , the jihad and many many other things can be stupidly judged unless they come with strong arguments to justify their true meanings. God al Mighty said: Akhrajakom men el tholomat ela el noor (brought you to light and goodness from the dark), so it’ll be better off emphasizing the dark side and bad aspects in order to show the sunny face of Islam. I think it’s never OK to stick to "take it for granted rather than building on convictions".

The Quran to me is fully with guidelines and proper directions , but it’s hardly a science text book.

Quoting the Caller" and that only high educated and strongly faithful religious scientist have the right fir ijtehad cause only then they will not be judged on their thinking.. " : This is kind of vague to me, I think it should be put in another way. Islam mainly communicates its teaching to us through our logic , I trust in mine and I believe that Islam makes our lives easier so consequently you (that is me and everybody else) should be able to practice it and have it enlighten our scopes easily without putting much effort in this. The main pillars of Islam are digestive.. This is what we need to convey.

Neverland: "Some people …..arrgument about it, but hey, that’s ok :)" Right , but Qweider simply looked at the other side.

  27. asalam 3alaykom,
it’s o.k only if we agree on the point of argument, not if i keep saying that i meant something else or someone else and you keep attacking agresivly any way..
i wrote the post from a certain view and for a certain goal meaning certain can’t just look away and shut your ears when i’m screaming to say..that is not my point..rushing thoughts are always bad and it makes all kinds of misunderstanding and what always shows is that shaitan 2iesa an yo3bad fel 3arab wa laken naga7 fe elta7reesh baynahom..
why not listen and think with out jumping into conclusions and attack with missels?!

  28. wallah enek btefhamy 🙂
"leave our religious matters away from your outstanding mental capacities..Be genious else where" I totally agree!

But on the other hand I am with Qwaider’s opinion about learning from non-believers.

  29. asalam 3alaykom,
yes dear 7ala..i agree too..but not religious me??
qwaider is like a matter how much you wave and jump up and down..he just can’t stop..
    or retreat!!
